✨I've always been curious about the diverse perspectives our world offers, which drove me to the field of UX.
✨To me, the essence of UX resides in empathy, attentive listening, and the dedication to tackle people's essential problems.
✨It's deeply fulfilling for me to help improve experiences that touch people's everyday lives. I've carried out this mission at the Markham Public Library, Metrolinx, and RBC.
✨I also spend time talking with people on Mentorverse, a side project I cocreated with a team of budding developers and designers, in the hope of providing young professionals (like us) feeling adrift in today's challenging world with a space for profound connection and mutual support.
👇Other tidbits about me
Relocated to Toronto in 2019, I spent my first year here self-studied UX design. While I enjoyed the learning process, I felt like something was missing when studying alone.
I enrolled in the University of Toronto's master's program because I believe that practicing within a group of designers is the best way to hone one's skills in the UX field.
Prior to graduate school, I worked as a user researcher, onsite and remotely
I worked mainly with children aged from 7 to 14; this is the first time I experienced the joy of understanding the world through the perspectives of children.
I like wearing EEG hat but hate having to wash off the gel afterwards.
What I enjoy the most about this job is observing users closely and picking up on every nuance of expression in order to generate insights that inform the design decisions
One of my research findings once helped increase user purchase intent by 27%, I still get thrilled thinking about it now. read more
Pitching research findings to stakeholders was also part of my job.
Over the years, I have become more comfortable with public speaking and now enjoy it, especially when talking about insights of our users.
My interest in UX design was first sparked back at the University of California Santa Barbara, where I studied the history of architecture and the environment.
I was intrigued by the ways in which generations of people shape the built environment, whether intentionally or not, through their interactions with it...
... and I have always wanted to delve deeper into this topic.
Now that I am researching and designing digital spaces for a larger group of people to interact with, I feel that the seed I planted years ago is finally coming to fruition. 🥰
